If i put an unlocked vts ECU on my vtr?

Basically would it work as a kinda re-map? Because I have done several mods to my vtr inlcuding complete exhasust system incl. manifold, S1 rallye inlet manfiold etc and intend on putting a cam in...

So any help would be great :y:

It wouldnt at all mate, unlocking only removes the immobiliser coding from you ecu!
Ever ECU is programmed to each car, by unlocking it you are making it usable on any vehicle with the 1.6 TU engine!!!!
It has no affect on any of the performance aspects of the ECU!!

it wont make it run any better

you need a re map for that

I guessed it prob wouldnt work too well - So it would not work at all then, no?

Would it not fuel it for a vts etc so would make my car run a bit better with the inlet etc?

Or just do nothing at all? - Should I try it?

Regarding the inlet, yes it is running now, idle is not too bad, below 1000rpm and it revs up and sounds great!
It was the MAP sensor which was the problem - Does anyone know wher the map sensor goes? because there is nowhere on the inlet for it :S

Just wouldn't work. The vtr's as far as I'm aware use a Bosch ECU and the vts uses a Magnetti Marelli ECU, specifically set up for the 16v engine

Yeh was gonna the R is 8 valve and the S 16 valve, also the cams are totally different, too many differences with the engine..

you need a re mao to run the rallye inlet a vts ecu or anyother standard ecu wont work in the way u want it to

na mate dont think so, two different engines, sensors etc. the loom will most proabably be different from a vtr and vts

Ok guys I see! thanks anyway, just a thought me and a mate had!

My rallye inlet runs fine as it is, although once I can the R I will want to get a remap to get the most out of the car :)
