My Saxo Raced Prepped, Update Page 2

It all first started off me doing karting profesionaly and geting bored of that my dad decided that he wanted to stick me into car racing but as i am only 14 Years old it was a struggle to find a decent championship then Christmas eve 750motorclub launched a new championship called Saxmax for 14-17 year olds to race in Saxos!. So heres some pics of the car and the build :D.

So we then brought the saxo had nothing wrong apart from a broken foglight which didnt matter as they were coming out anyway

The next day we were determed to have most the interior stripped out so we could book to have the rollcage in

We then wired up the fire extinguisha and fuel tank ( no pics sorry, can take some if people want )..

After all this it was time to start work underneath the bonnet and bodywork

By this time it was a mad rush as we only 2 weeks to complete the car before the race!.

Now that's a cool car. How long has it taken to build?

it took about 2months, workin nearly every day after school and every weekend! was all worth it tho!


Danr the cage was 1500! and it took them 2 weeks to fit it

But, because its racing. My car was soonly destroyed after being hit out so many times in the races.

The bad news was we had another race the next day so we started work on the car at 7pm trying to get the car straight and eventually gave up at 11pm at night as we ran out of light.. So we traveled to the hotel and made plans to be back at the track by half 6 to finish off the car. The next thing we know the track are calling up Saxmax drivers to the assembly area, We thought we wasnt going to be able to get out but after a mad rush we quickly got the car rescruitinered for saftey and just got to the grid in time... Will post pics later of the car

im amazed how people can call that racing! is it me or is it custom for people in production cars to crash into each other to gain places? ive never seen that happen in japanese championships where people use ae86's to race.

Its the vtr 8v version :(, No mods on engine apart from cam and diffrent ecu because were only young . Were runing Gaz suspension and it handles pretty well actually, we've tried all diffrent rideheights and stiffness etc and it handles better lower i reckon.. We've got the back higher then the front so i get more front grip.

looks smart mate! was talking to someone about the sax max the other day,they said the engine had to be std etc and it was a 1400 fusio engine lol!

makes me want to do one even more now :P but i know how much work goes into them etc helped bulid a 3i race car all winter!

was worth the effet everyone put inot it in the end thoe!
