Firstly id like to start off with a problem I'm having... My headlights beam are really low. The guy in the garage recons their as high as they can go but its so low its almost Dangerous.
Is it legal put put an upgrade bulb in my headlights (i know it wont help much with them being low but its something else that needs doing)? I work at halfords (just started) n my boss said it is legal to just swap bulbs over.Whats all this talk about a kit being needed?
Thanx
Chris

under the steering wheel there is a roller which says 1,2,3 or 0,1,2,3 when you move that from 0-3 do the headlights move where they aim? if not then the motor on the Headlights are not connected or not working.
i have some bulbs (same as Landy i think) which are as bright as fog lights in my headlights, had a few people flash me but just give them a quick flash back and its reet ;)

If he works at halfords then chances are there is a mcrags very close to hand.

you mean the beam is aimed low or the lights are dim
the lights can be adjusted manualy on the headlight itself or in the car
if there dim you can upgrade what bulbs have you got in them now

I thought it was ultra blue or laser blue bulb(one or the other) that were illegal for road use. Just get urself a higher wattage bulb, the halfords super brilliance bulbs are on special offer atm *2for1* give them a try, i think they are around £15 for your car minus ur 15% discount.
Does the car have any previous front end accident damage?
Also I know this is probably a silly thing to ask but did the guy at the garage set your lights up properly? (i.e. setting the adjuster at 0 before adjusting them).

Yes there has been front end damage before (i dont know how severe) but it looks as though 1 of the lights has been replaced as there are slight colour differences in the lenses.
Both the beam is low and the bulbs are dim.So think ill wack some HIDs in.
Just goin to have a look for the roller thing under the stearingwheel...To memory, i dont think mine has 1.

I'd try different bulbs first to see if it makes a difference. Could waste a fair bit of dosh otherwise. If not i'd check out where the light mounts onto the car make sure theres no damage there(not bent).
You should have 2 adjusters under your steering wheel. One will control the dimmer on your dash lights and the other the headlight adjustment. Go find a wall and try adjusting them against that see if they are working. Other wise it could be the headlight motor has packed up while the headlights are in the 3 position (lowest). Let us know how you get on!
