Right i have been meaning to post this for a while. I need some help, please could people provide me with a list of what they think i should have for washing my car. At the moment i have this shampoo:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_19 0120_langId_-1_CarSelectorCatalogId__CarSelectorGroupId__varien t__categoryId_33968_crumb_33958-33974_parentcategoryrn_33968
and the same wax. I have a wash mitt a few sponges a chamois leather and some microfibre clothes but thats about it. I want a list of the products i should get approx prices and details of where i can get them from. My car is silver if that helps. Cheers guys!!:y:

there was a group but where were ya lol
not really mate a few people have suggested the flash ones and a few on ebay but they really dont perform as well as a gilmour
you would be best off with the 2 bucket method to start off :y:

To start off with i would recomend
1. A good shampoo
2. A lambswool wash mit
3. A waffleweave towel to dry - I wouldn't use a chamois as it can scratch the paint quite badly.
4. Claybar - Dont need to clay the car but if the paint is built up with alot a grime that washing doesn't budge it can spoil the finnish.
5. To start with i think a good polish that isn't too expensive and can be bought from the shops is Auto Glym Super Resin Polish. Then follow this up with Auto Glym Extra Gloss protection. This will fill in any small swirl marks and defects and these 2 products together do leave a very good finnish,
6. A trim restorer to bring all your plastics back to the factory colour and a tyre dressing to bring the tyres back to black.
I would say that is the basics needed to start but like kcsaxo has shown the list can be endless.

buy the basic wash kit from polished bliss, its about 40 pounds
consists of
bottle of slick and suds shampoo
lambswool wash mitt
microfibre mitt
and a waffle weave towel
and believe me its top notch stuff :)
think if you spend over 100 you get 10% (not sure) off :)

I just spent over £100 myself with polishedbliss :ill: You get 5% off which works out at about free delivery.
That is a good choice for a started kit but if you do decide to go for it i would still recomend geting a polish and wax to protect the paint.

yea theres no saxp discount apparently, as they make a lot of money from people who are club members from forums they posted on and if they gave discounts to everyone theyd lose too much money.
On a side note, i got one of those megs long handled wheel cleaner brushes the other day for about a fiver, someone had put em out on the wrong hanger i think the real price was about 15 quid? Bargain. Its so much eaiser to do the wheels now was well worth it.
