lowering kit or just springs?

hey guys.. i'm new here and just wanting to know the answer to a questions that's bothering me!

could i just buy lowering springs lower car 40 mm all round

or should i buy lowering kit with shocks aswell

buy the full kit it will be much more cumffy i have the full kit and the ride just feels awsome compared to my mates car who has just got springs as his is rely bumpy but both of us are lowerd 50mm
