Can anyone give me some advice? Some nasty person has tried to break into my saxo furio. They have made a hole right next to the lock on my passenger side door, obviously in order to break in, but they must have been disturbed :( I have no idea what to do, or where to get this fixed. Please help!! Natalie x

Fuckin knobs man! Why people think they have a right to damage other peoples stuff i dont know, instead of spending loads going to sort someone else's problem out in iraq we should be sorting our own prblems out at home! IMO..
Rant over

Need to look up local bodyshops and car repair places. Best to speak ask
people around your area that might know first so they can recommend
good ones to yourself.
Not sure if its worth contacting your insurance/police.

it might be worth contacting the police because this person might have gone around and done a few more cars. might lead to something n shouldn't let people like that think they'll get away with things :)

Thanks for the very quick posts. Insurance company was useless...said it would cost me £100 straight up as an excess then my no claims bonus would go from 2 to zero so my renewal (which is due v soon) will increase rather than decrease! So annoying. Don't know what the police could do either. I'm studying forensic science at uni, i could get my fingerprint kit out and bust them myself!! x

Give it a go lol! Never know :p
When you do get repairs done just make sure its not a cheap botchup job!
Oh forgot to add - sorry to hear about the car.
Dont worrry you will sort it, any idea why they went for your car? Did you
leave stuff inside/on display etc etc?
Need to make sure it dont happen again!

First thing to do is remove the Door pins (the little black things that allow you to lock and unluck the door from the inside.
Next thing is to get a Central Locking/Car alarm
Then finally get the door bolts (that'll be where the thief has put a hole it in) taken out and then smoothed over.
Also, I presume they must have thought there was something worth while in your car. Make sure you remove everything, leave the glovebox open. And just hope it doesnt happen again

I've heard some info about getting it de-locked. Does this mean gettin the locks removed and smoothed over? Only thing i'm worried about is if the battery in my remote locking thing runs out!

Yup thats delocking, Pugs/Citroens are dead easy to get into ive heard (not
at expert and robbing crap from cars so dont know :p)
There are ways around the battery going flat (hidden key access for example)
Delocking is a must imo, its another deterant to avoid break ins.

Natz, yep its a little problem but provided the battery is in good order then you'll be fine - you can get them tested for free from Kwiqfit (i think) so regular checks should avoid a the problem of being locked out.
THe only thing I'd say is that, to keep an eye out on your car over the next few nights (not tonight so much as the cheeky bastards will probably think you'll be on the look out) but certainly the following nights.
Its a terrible thing to have happen but atleast they didnt actually get into the car. You'll need around £200 to delock i.e remove the key entery barrel and smooth it over.
Its not cheap but the peace of mind and extra protection it offers makes it worth it in the long run. :)

Oh rite..i think thats a bit of a big project 4 little me! Just dont want it to happen again. Where abouts in Bristol are you James? I live by cribbs causeway.

I actually live near bristol airport few miles from there.
Sit in the back of your car with a shotgun and if they come back that will sort em ;)

That was my first idea.... ;)
I'm not entirely sure where it happened though, cuz it was my passenger side, i didn't notice it until i came out of work on Fri night. Could well have happened before that. I'm so angry. I can't believe anyone would do that to someone else's property. I'm definately going to look into getting the locks removed now, seems the best thing to do. Thanks to everyone who posted to me. x

Yeah delocking would be a good idea tbh.

to fix the door, if its that bad then i would suggest trying the scrap yard for a new door cant see it been more than £20. its an even better bonus if you get one the same colour as your car.
or as above get it repaired by a body shop and get it de-locked at the same time, £150-£200.
invest in an alarm, it doesnt have to be anything special as the flashing light will be enough to deter most car thieves.
and again as above dont leave anything on display

The damage is not too bad, its about the size of a 5p next to the lock, but my saxo is a mango yellow furio so would be difficult to find one the same colour in a scrap yard! Thanks for the post though. Does anyone know where i can get it delocked in the Bristol (and surrounding) area? I literally have no idea where to get something like this done!

just have a look through your yellow pages under car bodyshops/repairs etc, and just give them all a ring. I cant imagine it being more than £200 tbh.
Sorry to hear about it. Its a horrible feeling when you see someone has been in your car. Had it happen to me a few times. Good luck getting it sorted.
