What do you think of a Ford Focus?

I know this might be the wrong place to ask, just wanted ask peoples opinion of them?? I quite fancy getting one when my policy runs out in november. The insurance isnt far off what im payin now either and i like the style of the car. My mate has done his up, got coilovers and a nice exhaust system and it looks top! Anybody had one/got one?? General opinions welcome. Cheers!

My mate had the 2.0 Zetec ESP model, X reg with 40k on the clock - offered me it for 3k and I wish I had now.

They can look really nice, I dont mind them but the only one I would really want is an rs.

I really like the ST170 i think thats what theyre called, really smart cars. Go for it mate

I'd quite like to buy my mates off him. Its a y reg and only done 35000 miles (ex mobility). The thing that puts me off is that i didnt know whether to keep my next car standard. His has got a new exhaust system and its bloody loud. And its got coilovers. Lowered to bout 80mm at the mo i think

Really like them. my dads only ever owned fords and loves them. all bee very reliable.

personally i dont like fords but i do like focus's. if u can afford it get a focus rs lol you know it makes sense

They say the focus RS is awful. my dad went to buy one and they advised him to get the ST170 instead.

so he did.

Big ford fan and i love the focus.
Was actually getting one myself but it's been put on hold now.

Hard to find a low milage one for good money, i'd buy your mates, 35k on a y reg is very good, obviously depends on the price tho.

Change the exhaust and springs and your on a winner.
I'd say about a 40mm drop on 16's seems to be the prefered choice.

I have a focus.

Was a nice step from the saxo.

Drives well, and very reliable.

Its a Y reg and just gone over 60k. Engine is fine, not replaced a single part other than tyres in my 3 years of ownership. Saying that, the battery could do with being replace, on cold days I make sure I start the engine before turning lights on.

ST170s aren't particularly quick. Well built cars though.

Look goos as well. If you're looking for an investment I would say now is the time to buy a Focus RS as they seem to be dirt cheap now and in a few years will start to appreciate in value again.

i wouldnt by a focus rs unless you want the torque steer to pull you into a wall or ditch the handling is shocking but very nice to look at cars! i honestly watched a renault 5 turbo 165bhp wreck a focus rs,i know its not all about the speed but i honestly think a better option wud be a st170,that 1 in autotrader is stunning imo
