dont quite know where to put this but here it goes.... my mate has just been summoned to court for being caught doing 53 in a 30mph, what could the repercussions of this be as we have heard it will be more than 3 points and a bigger fine and a possible suspension? am i bieng mugged off believing this? what could be the worst case scenario?

my mate got caught by a mobile cam doing 59 in a 30

the case went to court and he got away with:

no points

8 week ban

95 quid fine

he was a bit pissed off but i think he got off lightly

My other mate got caught doing 72 in a 30.... he deserves to be bummed in chelmsford for a couple weeks in my opinion but.... we shall see how that turns out

Basically if you get caught about 50 mph in a 30 is goes to court. Where they can give you 3-6 points. I was caught doing 52 and Im awaiting my court apperance, and I am not looking forward to it at all.

Its my own fault for being a twat and I deserve it I just hope I dont get 6, because at the time of the offence I had been driving 1 year and 51 weeks....

your "mate" is gonna get a smacked bottom and a nice little fine to go with it! depends how much he NEEDS his car, i.e. for work, for picking up the kids, etc as to how lenient (sp) the judge will be!

I thought the points get added to your current license.

SO youd still have 6more empty point slots
