ive been thinking about this for a while, my cars a 1.0 scandal, doesnt have central locking, and you cant get out the car and press the door pin down and close it to lock the car, so with mates i have to chuck the key to my mate to lock the passenger door.
So i was thinking i may aswell remove the door pins to stop theivin pikeys gettin in, but id only do that if i could somehow make it look smooth, guess my only option is to by a hole door card but with no door pin holes.
any ideas or info please? :y:

Buy an alarm first, then de pin mate thats what i did. If you want to de pin before fair enough it will be safer in one way but with no alarm they will still get in un deturred really by other methods. I didnt like not being able to lock/unlock from inside the car, but i can do it off a fob now

Best all rounder is the Toad AI606, reliabel, lots of add on feaures for later on. Fitted it will be about 240 ish quid. You can get budget ones for like 120 quid but therye a bit shite really from what ive heard.

If you fit it yourself you dont get a certificate to reduce insurance, and you dont get a warranty from the alarm manufacturer i dont think. But the AI606 ios about 120 without fitment, off ebay etc.

ok cheers mate, ill look into it. my car is kept on my drive though, and im in the countryside so slim chance of any thieves. But when im out or staying out want it to be as secure as i can you know. Not sure if i can spend over £200 on an alarm though! Unless it nocked more than that off my insurance quote!

yes, its an easy mod to do, extra security and free until you find a grommet to fill the hole :y:
