piece of cake, as long as you show understanding of the road and simple bike control!

When i did my cbt there was a girl there that was so crap at controlling the bike that she ended up doing the cbt on a twist and go scooter... so even if you can't get to grips with a geared bike you have an alternative... It was just a fun day out to be honest... especially the emergency braking lol :P

yeah you c an ride anything up to 125cc on L plates with a full car license .... aprilia RS125 ftw!!!!!
or you can hop on a 50cc without L plates....
and CBT is so easy..... as long as youve actually ridden before youll piss it!
I got taken on a school playground, shown braking, braking distances, riding in ovals, riding figure of eights, emergency stops, and lifesavers and mirrors drilled into you, then out onto the road if they think your safe enough.

anyone on here done there bike test??
how long you recon it takes to learn and pass that? me and a few mates were going to look into it over the summer.
rough idea on prices for lessons etc??
what the crack with getting a bike when you pass too?
could a 26 yr old pass and hop on to a 600cc bike straight away?
minxymears
21st March 2007, 09:42
yes mate if you do your bike license your restricted to a 600, or 110kw of power so ~ 90 bhp? 12 months on that and i think youre then free to jump on a thou or bigger, or cos youve over 21 you can go and do your DAS straight away and jump on anything ..... but youd shit yourself bein blunt ..... an 600's these days are plenty quick enough, and a good rider on a 600 with full system will keep up with a thou anyway!

Yep, i have my full bike license.
If you pass on a machine >35kW then you can ride anything (if you're over 21).
It's best to do DAS (direct access scheme) - it costs approx £400 depending on your location and your level of experience.

i did the CBT for my ped about a year ago, its simple, just basic stuff like stopping and starting correctly, then turning practice around cones ect. Then answer few questions about road signs and conditions, and finally out on the road for a little while so the instructor can see you drive.
Real simple stuff, i was done in a few hours. :y:

if u want to ride a 50cc then u can without taking the cbt n u dont ave to put l plates on,as long as u passed ur driving test before feb 2001,if u want to ride upto a 125 ul ave t do it and display l plates,n it only lasts 2 years aswell,if in doubt ring the test centre n make sure,n dont get insured by car insurers go for a bike insurance co like bennets there alot cheaper:drink:
