My bro is getting one as he has to sell the CTR as some vandals smashed his CTR up on our driveway and the insurance will be going mental..

Anyone had/got one of these, if so what are they like??

no, just the ford racing blue, thye come with the frod puma s1600 arches etc so have wider track and 80 have LSD's, he is getting one with an LSD too...

Ye was a bit of a shock tbh! They are going to wish they hadn't done it i tell you..

insurance for him in his own name with 2 claims and 0 ncb at 20 is £2800 fully comp, the puma is £1400 fully comp so alot cheaper and also the fuel will be alot better too..

My mate has 1 and they are very nice cars. Think they are group 16 insurance but not sure. In the books are 0.1 seconds slower than a VTS which is disapointing, doesnt go as quick as it looks like it should :)

The rear seats are a right bitch to get in and out of :)

He has a ctr now, but cos of the tools who mashed his car the insurance will become ridiculous etc..

i think the fuel consumption kinda put him off ctr's, they are quite bad! I nkow you cant expect it to be good but its crazy..lol.

Something he should have thought about i suppose, but about the insurance, he phoned them today and they said the premium will rise but its already way too expensive so its bye bye ctr.. :(

The FRP is a great car and a future classic! Awesome looks and handling, easily tuned and at the moment cheap enough to buy.

I'd have one.

There is a guy around where I live with a FRP which has been resprayed in Sunburst Red. Looks awesome!

The Ford Racing Puma was created in a limited run of just 500 by Tickford, Daventry UK and used a modified version of the 1.7 Zetec-SE engine. Other modifications included a wider track front and rear, disc brakes to the rear and larger race-spec Alcon discs/4 pot calipers up front, Sparco bucket seats, blue Alcantara trim, 17" Speedline rims. This version was only made available in right hand drive to the UK market. All 500 cars were produced in Ford Imperial Blue, which was not otherwise available on Pumas to the UK market.

they are lush. mate round our area (19 years old) bought one insured it for a year then couldnt afford it so is now driving an old school fezza..

they are nice cars, my mates got one. nothing in its class will keep up with it round the bends if you know how to drive.

when they built the FRP they sent it down a quater mile against a normal 1.7 puma and it was exacly the same, even though the frp is 156BHP. all the weight of the wings and body filler slow it down.

if your are going to get one make sure its a mint one thats been well looked after. if you don't look after these cars they break. watch out for the wheel bearings as ford put "open back" bearings on them which allowed all the crap to get into them, and after time the bearings colapse. also they can eat driveshafts.

i dont think i would of liked to have paid 25 grand for one brand new but still a good investment nower days. think a good one will set u back around 9 grand.

and insurance is high because parts are a tad expensive. a genuin front bumper is a grand and the front wings are 800 notes!!

That would just ruin it!!! Whey does it need a spoiler?? I'm pretty sure with the tyres it has and the fact that the rear arches are a lot wider, that's gonna hold it on the road enough..... it's not like it's got 400BHP or anything.
