View Full Version : New Car Tax Rates

I was moaning so much last night to my mum about the new tax rates as we were walking home from a restraunt.
I kept checking random cars tax discs on the way home too (Just to see the kind of prices other people are paying, while i get shafted in a little hatchback) Incidently there are LOT of cars who only pay £110 for the year!
Anyway my mum has just had to re apply for one of the company car's tax & sent me this link, it might be of interest to some of you.
http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/
In the menu on the left click the 'Vehicle Enquiry' button
All you need is your Vehicle Registration, Vehicle Manufacturer & my paypal address and your set ;)
Last year my VTS was £175 and this year it will be £180 so all in all im pretty chuffed!

Pre-2001 it's dependent on engine size. Post 2001 it's dependent on CO2 emissions...

Mine is a single plug ECU but i think it depends on whether your cars emissions are availible to them aswell? In the report does ti specify your emissions? Mine have been left out!
I just tried it for my old 2001 model VTS which was 3 plug and its emissions are missing too and its the same cost
£99 for 6 month & £180 for the year!

I'm afraid it's correct. Ironically enough, it's only 21g CO2/km less than my company car (SLK 280)...
