Got rid of the alloys yesterday, Put it back on Steelies until i can afford some speedline comp2's.

Thought i'd share the pics... not to everyones taste understandably :)

MK2 rallyes are rarer, but the mk1 looks the daddy to me. Steelies look better than alloys imo. Interior looks really clean matey, :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: Cleanest car in the street:y:

Bit of an update.

Currently off the road, awaiting lots of new bits!

dampers
throttle cable
bigger brakes
fuel sender
new tyres

to name a few things on the list...

Cd player is now out, along with speakers etc.. i've got a 7,400rpm rev limit to listen to ;)

Series1 Rallye Looks stunning mate, anybody who says 'Nice but to to my Taste' has NO Taste and wouldnt know a decent car if it run them over :y:

Looks great of the steelies - Snap I got them too on my VTS and Im loving em

Love the side stripes wonder what they'd look like on a striped out S? Hmmm something to think about :p


Pics above of the Series1 and Series2 together look amazing, the one with the sun setting in the background is pure class

theres a very fishy guy looking into ure car on the first 2pics mate ;) has gonna have away with it :o lovely pics, my mate used to have one when he was about 17, a little project tht nevr made it out of the garage :(

Looks like a nice example, you should leave it on steelies though mate, they look sweet! Its how Rallyes are meant to be.

Thought i'd update this.

Basically. she was off road for 2 months!.

Needed quite a bit of work, it's now on the road again but still not finished.

work carried out has been:


106 gti dampers all round
106 gti brake callipers
grooved/drilled discs
ebc ceramic pads
S2 steelies with centre caps
Standard airbox with BMC panel filter
Old style scorpion pugsport
fresh oil/plugs/filters
Front decal
de-wipered



To come very shortly


omp anthracite lower brace
arches re sprayed
stickers all around
lower wishbones




Handles really well. 6000+rpm around some awesome backroads = very very fun.

i moan about it all the time but i cant complain as a first car.

Like it mate, needs lowering though
I have some 30mm springs but have decided to leave it.

they dont look right lowered on steelies IMO. plus it handles real well now, just needs the lower brace and new wishbones!

Do you intended putting a Valver lump in it like ever other owner of these?

I think its such a shame when people do that to rallye's. In my opinion the whole point of a rallye is its 8v, i think buy a gti and strip it if you want 16v rallye :)

its staying 1.3 aslong as it doesnt blow up.

headgaskets just started to go, white gunky stuff under the oil cap and it misfires a bit when you start it... its a never ending list lol.

if the engine went bang i would 16v it cause finding a decent 1.3 is going to be hard but i do think they are great fun with the 8v.

haven't updated this for a while.

Since i last posted she's undergone a total transformation performance wise.

2x new lower wishbones
2x new 106 gti shocks
2x vtr rear dampers
30mm apex springs
3" pugsport de-cat


and the top end has been fully re built.

head skimmed, de coked, had the valve seats done, new oil seals.

headgasket
cambelt kit
water pump
thermostat
powerflex engine mount.



as i said, i'll get some fancy new pics this weekend to update this, as for now, this is the only one i have.

Very nice pug you've got there! I love how you've kept the standard look, but i recon you should lower it 40mm.. or even 30:)

that one got rear ended and written off

he got another cherry red one not sure what hes done to it though aint spoke to him in ages
