sorry, didnt know if this should go here or in the interior and styling, so please move if in the wrong place
just wondered that if i bought a VT* kit for my silver 1.1 would it be the same colour silver?
just that i've heard a few people mention that it is a different shade?
if its different how different is it? and would you need to get it re-sprayed?
cheers

As far as I'm aware the only silver you get is Quartz silver, could be wrong though.
If it's a different shade you could always just pass it off as a 2-tone paintjob :P

to get all technical on your ass there are lots of variants of all the colours. Citroen will get the colours and mix them up to create a particular colour then apply it to the car. however when it comes to producing a the same colour in all likelihood the match wont be exact. hence to get similar but different shades.

there is 2 different types of silver but each of the 2 silvers has different shades. though i think only MK1 had the other silver, it seems all MK2 have the quartz silver so you should be ok :p

there are 9 different shades of the Citroen silver. the paint code for Quartz silver is EYCC**, if you get the body kit from a car that is a very similar year then the chances are that it will be the same shade of silver.
however, if you get it from a newer saxo then the colour might not be spot on then you will need to get it re-sprayed for it to be 100% then if it is a sprayer/bodyshop that knows that they are doing then they will blend the colour of the vt* kit into the rest of the car. this will hopefully not be needed as its near enough a full respray.
hope that helps
