Road Kill Damage

Went fishing very early yesterday morning, 4am ish, set off down the m18 doing a steady 85-90mph all the way down from jnc 1 to jnc 6, as i left jnc 6 i came into an area of doncaster called thorne where the pond is i was fishing, just as i leave the roundabout i spot two ducks, far to late to brake and to dangerous to swerve, i ran into the pair of them but felt nor heard anything, as i got out the car the 1 of the ducks was still breathing but in pieces so had to do what was best and finish him off, now i had no bang and didn't here a connection to the ducks but its smashed the reg plate to bits and the other duck has wiped out the near side front fog....blood everywhere.

anyone else ever hit anything? something heavier maybe? like a dear?

I ran straight over a hedgehog once and it shattered the arch lining!

A friend took out a sheep on some country lane in North Yorkshire (in a mini). Smashed the front end, windscreen, roof and dented virtually every pannel on the car with the impact. Insurance co refused to pay out because of some technicality!:n:

Yeah he survived only knocked him out for about 20 minutes and he had a cut on his head, it was his own fault ran straight out in front of me and i didnt have time to stop, he tried to claim against me but he didnt go to hospital so they told him where to go :clapping:

Had fallen off a truck and he didnt see it, wrote the car off.

A big fat crow.

It swooped down really low just as i was flying by down an A-road. Bulk of it must have gone below the car cus there wasnt much of a bump. I only just saw the bird swooping down out the corner of my eye and wasnt even sure it was a bird.... till i peaked at my rear view mirror to see the car behind me navigating through a fog of black feathers!

I still find feathers in my engine bay too!

deer which destroyed my bonnet,arches,bumper,headlights,radiator,door,gril l and slam panel.

I had a fight in a Clio once, against a deer. Renault Clio,1 ; Stupid "lets-jump-in-front-of-traffic" venison burgers on legs, 0. I beat it arse over tit.

I was in the car when my mum hit a sheep. destroyed the front end of the fiesta.

and when my mate hit a girl. broke the dull womens ankle. shudnt of walked out infront of the GSi then lady. take your earphones out and look where your going and you wouldn't be crying on the floor.

Ran over a cat once, took its head of with my multispoke alloys many years ago in my Escort Si. Laid the poor thing to rest by the side of the road, and found its collar caught in the driver side brake assembly! Somehow the collar it had on before losing its head got inbetween the brake disc and pad causing some much unwanted damage to the disc.

Went to the local newsagents 2 days later and read the advert cards. One was there asking if anyone had seen there cat, "lucky". Poor thing, wasnt that lucky! was only doing 30 when it decided to cross the road in front of me, on a zebra crossing!

Removing the collar from the brake assembly, revelaed the name tag on it Wait for it.....wait for it.....How ironic. The cat was called lucky! I killed the un-lucky cat!

Oh well.....

My mate hit a bull in his Berlingo van:panic: He had to be cut out and was in hospital for 10 days. The van was a good 4ft shorter than before he hit the bull.
The bull was still alive afterwards but had to be put down by a vet

When we go rallying on Epynt in the Brecon Beacons on average 3 sheep get wiped out by competing cars
Last time up there I saw a Darian hit one at about 90mph. Took the legs home for tea:wink:

I've had two magpies swoop down on the motorway at about 6am on the way to Silverstone.... at first we didnt know we'd hit anything cos there wasn't a sound and we saw something go over the top. We decided to go through the M6 Toll later on and the guy at the kiosk said "Do you know you have a bird hanging our of your front grille?" We decided to pull over and take a look... the magpie was at full wingspan across the front of my car LoL all the way from the caravan site in Wales, through past home in Warrington then to the M6 Toll lol.. poor thing. It snapped my grille in half but luckily didnt fall out lol and almost busted my air con... left a nice dint in it tho... thank god it didn't damage the bodywork.

Other than that I've almost hit rabbits running across the road.

The other weekend i Was on the A127 and I came off it a basildon junction going about 45-50mph as it's a very long slip road to the roundabout, all of a sudden a bloody massive badger pulls out and just starts trotting along not even fast so i put on the anchors and luckily i just missed it, i reckon it would done quite a lot of damage.

i hat a bastard cat on the m6!! THE M6!!!! it ran accross three lanes, then under central reservation, then accross two more lanes into my lane (first lane opposate side of motorway it started on) where i plowed into it at 90mph. felt proper bad!! giant thud so i looked behind me and saw plastic on the floor. pulled over and my bumper cracked, numberplate missing and my cooling fan sounds like a machine gun! A FUCKING CAT ON THE M6!........A FUCKING CAT THOUGH!
