Clay bars are the best thing to use to remove any bonded contaminents on the wheels i.e. tar.
Clean the whole wheel with a wheel cleaner.
Then polish the lip with some metal polish (autosol would be ideal).
Then seal the whole wheel with poorboys wheel sealant (use as many layers as you like).

i would avoid Wonder Wheels as it is very abrasive and could damage the chrome, i would just wash the wheel with a wash mit and the clay bar it then polish the chrome with Autosol, polish the rest of the rim with polish then sealant

Its not abrasive, its an acid. Its too strong to be using regually, but it can be used with care for really dirty wheels with baked on brake dust, but there are better / safe acid cleaners aroun.
If you use it make sure you rinse the wheel regually, and dont let the wonder wheels sit for any length of time on the wheel.

also, you want to use as gentle wheel cleaner as possible so as to not damage the finish.

autosol is the best stuff to polish metal, and use a loose mop on a drill to make it shine up :y:

the best polish money can but is made for boats mate. go to a boat shop and buy the wax for the bottom of boats. that stuff is the nuts. when its dirty just wipe the car over and hey presto, all clean again. its expesive for the best stuff though.
