can someone give me an idea on cost of getting the boot badges and lock taken off the boot, smoothed and sprayed? might look into getting this done eventually depending on cost, also to get the toe eye cut and hole in bumper cut n sprayed

cheers

Do the badges stick on, or is there holes behind them?

There are holes behind the badges. Three are behind the Citroen badge and two are behind the Saxo badge. They will have to be filled in and smoothed over. I'm not sure on an actual price but I can't see it being expensive. Looks the dogs b*ll*cks too :)

will they have to spray the full boot?

In reality... yes. I'd be a bit peed off if they only sprayed the area effected. It's almost impossible to get an exact match by focusing on one area so there's a 99% chance they would re-spray the whole boot especially if you're having the boot lock removed.

Why not buy one ready done!!! They come up on ebay quite often.

£120 for the full boot smoothing? if thats what you pay and its a good job then you are quids in mate. i paid £250 for mine doing through a mate but if i had taken it to a body shop that didnt know me then it would have been about £400

no they dont. go to a good body shop and you will be fine.

ive had it done gordi, you have seen my old vtr that sizey has done, also got my bumper done how you want.

both done up at k n m design in darlo, up on faverdale, unsure of a price think i paid around 250 for the vtr to be done, that was delocked as well and few bits tidied up.

work on the vts cost a bit more, but i had the bumper done and then un colour coded, its best to give them a ring or pop up there and ask them. Kens the man to see

if your gettin just the bumper and back done, could cost around 200 i would think, if you get doors delocked maybe bout 300, not sure on that, just guesstimate

Oh ok then. I was quoted prices for a complete boot re-spray because they said it's stupid doing it in bits because with the work involved, it's easier to do the whole thing.

It's the same with if your car was keyed along one side. The majority of bodyshops would re-do the whole side instead of focusing on the area affected. Are you saying that's incorrect?

my body shop done it fine, if they are talented they can merge the paint, not sayin your wrong damo, but your not right, its down to the body shop and how good they are, you obv dont go to very good ones. I know how you always like to think everything you say is correct.

loads of people have seen both my cars and you cant fault the work, you cant even tell anything has been done, and thats been merged, not full respray on that panel, just the bit thats been effected and the surrounding area

you can see the pics of my car there, can you see anything wrong with it?

its not too bad to sort out, wire from battery to button, then wire from button to the soleniod (sp) at the back and jobs done

other than buying a VTS when u said u never would? :P

I know after speaking to body shops that some colours are harder to blend than others so perhaps Damo has one of them paints

i know mine has a flake in it so blendin wouldnt do mine any good....

its all down to individuals no wrong or right answer tbh

i would of thought dark red would be harder than black...

wicked red isnt an easy paint to merge, but they done it, i know it was merged cos i was talkin to him bout it, and even went up when it was half done
