Hi chaps is it easy to fit a handbrake cabe on a mk1 vts ? any help or advise
rep will be giving!!!;)

if its the same setup as a mk2 vtr then its simple enough.ive vhanged one using a jack and one on a ramp.you need to remove a heatshield from the centre section of the exhaust(about 4x10mm bolts) then you slacken the handbrake right off when thats out the road.cable goes slack and its a case of working it out from the caliper.took me about 30mins on a jack

PS.I advise you change both at the same time.I made the mistake of 1 at a time

I snapped mine at the weekend boohoo, does all garages do them

mines cost me £10.01 each changed one then a week later the other snapped.if the one that works just now claire has never been replaced before i advise you change both while your having the other changed. for all the price of the cable u'll be thankful in the end :A:

My mate said its the cheap bit ive snapped, means nothing to me lol didn't know there was two cables to a handbrake :P

Ive never had any of them replaced so i think ill be getting them done at the weekend
