I'm on the verge of purchasing two JL 12W1V2-4, however i need to decide what amp to use to run them?

Would a Kenwood: KAC-8103D 1000W Mono Amplifier be powerful enough? Or what else should i consider?

The spec for the subs is below:

Free Air Resonance (Fs): 23.68 Hz
Electrical “Q” (Qes): 0.443
Mechanical “Q” (Qms): 6.465
Total Speaker “Q” (Qts): 0.414
Equivalent Compliance (Vas): 3.739 cu. ft. / 105.81 liters
One-Way, Linear Excursion (Xmax)*: 0.375 in. / 9.5 mm
Reference Efficiency (no): 0.00304
Efficiency (1W/1m)**: 86.81 dB SPL
Effective Piston Area (Sd): 81.392 sq. in. / 0.0525 sq. m.
DC Resistance (Re): 4.101 ohm
Nominal Impedance (Znom): 4 ohm
Thermal Power Handling (Pt): 150W
Driver Displacement: 0.035 cu. ft. / 0.99 liters
Net Weight: 8.61 lbs. / 3.90 kg

Thank You please!

You'll need two of those amps to run them, the hints' in the word 'mono', they're only supposed to be used to run one sub each.

But they're capable of running the subs you've mentioned.

I've always believed it right that you can run as many subs of one amp as you like?

Where has this information come from Meakin?

That's true but that's on a normal amp, a monoblock amp's specifically designed to run one sub.

It can be done, mind, but you're asking for advice on the best set up, so I thought I'd just say.

you can run two subs of a mono amp its just the way you wire it up and the subs need to be the dual type, rockford fosgates site has wiring guides

them subs are only 150 watts rms so either by a 4 channel and bridge them, a 2 channel or 2 mono amps

here we go one of these and bridge it for the subs

or

one of these

or

2 of these

yes the amp is more than enough for the subs as they are only 150wrms from what i can see by doing a quick surch. best to wire them up as 2 ohm then you will get the best from both. but watch the gains dont go to high or you could blow them

id have 2 mono amps to get the best from your subs mate up to you really they will all do the job
just with 2 monos you will need to put a distribution block in to split the power wire

best to get 1 mono amp as you will have trouble getting both to play the same frequency and the same gain. as if they are playing different to each other the subs will sound crap.
