Sony Ericsson K800

Anyone got one? Opinions please, my V3i ran out of contract yesterday, and its a shite phone, so i need a new one.

This one seems to be pretty smart and ive found a great deal on it with 3. But reading some of the reviews, it seems to crash a lot and have other issues. But im thinking people are more likely to write a review if theyre pissed off with the phone rather than if they like it.

I need a phone quickly, after 1 day im having serious withdrawl issues :panic:

my mate has one and it crashes all the time and wants rid, get the samsung d900 its a good phone :)

I got a K800i no problems with the phone. Camera is amazing, video average, menu's and everything else is quick and easy to use. Know a few people with D900, dont like them as they are not as well built, and although the camera is the same m.p, it doesn't look as good, and does not have a proper flash.

i have a k800i and cannot fault it one bit, awesome camera, good menus, and if you get a decent sized memeory card can also use it as a walkman

i have got a k800 and have had no problems with it! i keep goin back to sony erricsson's. they def have the best camera imo! only thing with them that i have found is the joy stick tends to start sticking after a while! but i have had mine for over 6 months and it hasnt started sticking yet!!

mate dont listen 2 any bad reviews of the K800, its a cracking phone, with wicked camera, shit hot screen, only fault is poor video recording quality, but the 3.2 meg cam takes good stills and the macro and autofocus are great features. oh yeah proper flash and ive got a 1gig mem card with mine, awesome!
Cant go wrong with sony ericsson, i wont have any other brand, last 3 phones have been S.E's.

But being perfectly honest, the successor to the K800 (possibly the K850 and otherwise known as 'Sofia' is due out in 2/3 quarter of this year, so looking at june time. S.E have been really secretive and the phone wasnt announced at CeBit and other technoology conventions as has been previous years.
Its rumoured to have 5meg+ cam so should be a bit special.

my contract has ran out, but im waiting out for the 'K850', so if youre ok with your V3 for now, your best holding out imo.

and as regards to 3, id leave them alone, worst customer service ever, and poor coverage. Plus most other networks now offer 3G facilities which is what 3 had uniquely before. 02 is the way forward :y:

I had one mate, I loved the phone as it was really good to use, camera was ace and everything. I only sold it because I needed the dosh, but wish I hadn't now but if I hadn't - the car wouldn't of been lowered sooo...

Cheers for the help people. Its between this and the Nokia N95 now. Nokias got more features but its loads more and hard to get hold of. Hasnt been out long so it will go wrong alot too, will prob go for the K800. The K810i is coming out soon though aswell haha

Don't touch the Nokias mate, I still think they have major software issues and ain't as reliable as they were.

K800i will be the best phone to get.

K800i is a great phone BUT!!!

I was warned before to be careful with the toggle sticks u get on Sony phones..
Guess what, mine has packed in now.
Its soo hard to scroll down now when texting, and most times the text message
gets assigned to the wrong person. So its even more hassle to remove them
and then add the correct person.

Its really really annoying and I wish I had got a different phone now. Its a
shame as they are really good.

My new phone will be a Nokia 8210... reprayed anthracite :p

A few of my mates sticks on the SE's have gone aswell. Why cant there be a stylish relible phone with lots of functions haha. Cheers again lads, will prob be the K800. Or see how long until the K810 comes out, i cant last much longer without a phone though.

On a side note Rushy, how much were your ultralegs? Ive been lookin at em, best price ive found for 16's with tyres is just a touch under a grand

dont touch nokias with the sybian or s60 software, i had a n80 and had to get 4 replacements all for the same fault so in the end they senta k800i best swap ive done for a phone!

cams top noch no matter where the pics are taken on them mate i use mine all the time in clubs and because the flash is that good it makes the pic look good!

I had the same problem mate, sent the n80 back and asked for the k800 instead.
That was in August, and the stick has now packed in, it doesnt like going right.

As you said, nokias on the symbian software have a lot of bugs, although i believe that the n73 is fine once you update the software on it. All the other nokias that are just numbers like 6300 are fine, usual nokia software, its just the n series that are faulty.

K800i is the best phone out there it was between that and the d900 for me, i read that d900 had a crap screen that smashed all the time!! I got my K800i at the same time a mate got a D900 guess what his is getting repaired for a broken screen whilst i live it up with my 3.2 megapixels!! Sucka
