View Full Version : How to remove Vinyls (56k Warning)

Things you'll need;

Hairdryer / Heatgun
Cloth
Window Cleaning solution

Step 1. Clean the vinyl and surrounding area, then slowly heat up a small part of the section your going to remove. Dont over do it as the vinyl will stretch and rip when too hot.

Step 2. Gently pick at the edge of the vinyl with your fingernail, it will begin to peel away easily. When theres enough peeled back to grab just steadily pull it away. Then repeat the above until its all removed.

Step 3. Spray the area with a bit of window cleaner and wipe away with a damp cloth. Then give it a quick wipe with a dry cloth.

Thanks for everyones advice, car is now a few grams lighter haha

mine were stuck on really well

i used a pressure washer and blasted them off from really close

I darnt use one of them, it might fuck up the paint work.....

nah you shouldnt

use aheat gun or hairdryer and pick them off then

jus get them wet, then either heat up with a hairdryer and peel off, or jus peel off carefully and slowly. then when they r off, give it a good clean.

if you have a steam cleaner use one of them and scrape it off otherwise heat and scrape :y:

Might aswell sand em off if im gunna use a blade.....

Ill have a go with the hairdryer and just pick at them steadily on thursday aff, coz ive got the afternoon off... ill pop up some pics when im done.

My boot is debadged but has got Citroen Saxo stuck back on in a diff style, so im pulling them off aswell i think!

dont be using a blade or sandpaper unless u want to fuck your paint

jet wash them off like i did

heat, peel, then clean with white spirit and rinse. easy! no damage either.

my bad thought it woz on the glass, plus a blade wont scratch glass people!
