Right. on my car at the moment, i got 13s with 165/70 tyres (shit i know)

I was finkin of gettin 17s with 205/40 tyres, this would only increase the rolling radius by 17.3mm (not too bad)

I was finkin of dropping it 40mm, so it would be 40mm closer to the tyre but only 20mm closer to the road (ya get me?)

My question to you guys is, would it looked dropped by 40mm even tho its only dropped 20mm (in theory).

Also can i drop it 40mm on springs alone? Would i need any archwork?

Sorry if your confused, i confused myself! :S

Will need lots of archwork mate. I have 17s on dropped about 50mm and it still looks quite high!

Do a search around the site. This q has been asked loads of times:p

i had to skim the arch slightley and skim the whole bumper brackat off to go down 50 mil on 16s with 45 tires. never done anything to the front it only rubs on full lock hope this helps you mate

iv got it dropped on its arse and on 15's n it dont scrape, i think owt bigger than 17's is stupid cos it hightens your car and slows you down, (in my opinion)

17s on a 106/Sax can be done and even larger if you got the cash to back it up but bit of work envolved.

15s or even 16's would be less work. Toad (I think thats right) has a 106GTi on 206GTi Nimrods and that looks very nice, plus it would almost look factory fitted. 16s would give you alittle more scope for going lower with the right tyre choice.

ive got 17s on and the cars not for speed. its a posing whore.

I need to lower it only like 30mm for the arches and side skirts to look right

Am i gonna need special equipment to roll the arches?

Your going to have to do some cutting of metal no specialist equipment needed unless you dont have an angle grinder.

From the original question i guess given your rolling on 13s that its a flat arch saxo? If so your going to have to do a lot of arch work and even then it might still rub

^^^
Good point, its worth reminding people that its a flat arch model.

Thats why I suggested 16s :)
