from my local garages for 2 new front tyres and some standard brake disks and pads! the quotes i managed to get are as follows:

2x 185/55/14 budget tyres = about £95 including VAT and fitting.

2x standard brake disks and pads = about £120 including VAT and fitting.

tyres seem reasonable but the disks and pads seem pricey considering they are standard, was thinking of maybe ordering the disks and pads off the internet cheap and then taking them to the garage and getting them to fit them, will that be the best way you reckon?

I just had my pads and discs changed. Got some mintex ones off of eBay for 34£ delivered. Not sure on the fitting cost as it was all in a service.

But I had the cambelt done, full service, and pads and discs changed from the ones I supplied.

Came to £182. You should be looking at 30£ at the most for changing discs/pads tbh.

So £34+30=cheaper than your original quote. ;)

Also the tyres seem abit pricey too. I can get 195/45/15 for 40£, and get them fitted in the £40. So again, you should be looking at £20-30 less than that original quote.
