Hiya, I think there is a website which compares insurance companies that insure mods (and apparently some don't charge extra) Although not sure if it's true!
www.brokerking.co.uk - I think, in fact I shall try now and see, cos it was a friend who told me!

Don't cosmetic modifications vary from company to company (i.e. one would say they don't need to know about it whilst the other does)?

Apparantly BrentAcre do not charge for cosmetic mods. Athough as i am not with them, im not sure how reliable the info i was told is. Wont hurt to give them a ring thou.

True! They are an insurance broker who use various underwriters. I use Brentacre and can highly recommend them! They insure me through NIG and the policy has unlimited cosmetic mods (as long as they know about them) and a power cap at 180bhp! So basically I can do pretty much anything to my car and it won't affect my policy

Sounds like a good policy. Asda get shitty when i try to change anything on my policy. Although i did get a quote from BrentAcre and they wanted £1800 Fully comp, which is double what im paying now.

The problem with ASDA is that their insurance policies amount to diddly squat! We had home insurance with asda because they were cheap but when our roof came in the policy didn't cover it so we had to pay out nearly 5 grand for it fixing out of our own pockets!

Agreed. There a pile of crap. Ive only got 1 month left though so mite as well stick with it. Got a letter the other day saying 'We have decided to no longer provide insurance policies to anybody under that age of 21 years. If you have a policy with us and you fall into this age bracket we will pass your details onto another company who will be able to provide you with a comprehensive quote'.
Am expecting a BIG increase in the premium from another company even though i will have a years no claims so should in theory be cheaper.
