What are people's opinions of the Fabia?

If it's going to cost too much to repair my saxo, I wouldn't mine a Fabia as a replacement.

I've got my eye on The Top One. (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.jsp?searchform=&modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&photo=1&state=none&sort=3&hassearched=Y&make=SKODA&min_pr=75&source=0&model=FABIA&max_pr=2000&miles=40&agerange=3&mileage=&postcode=m32+8dr&bodyid=0&fuelid=0&colour=&transmissionid=0&ukcarsearch_full.x=30&ukcarsearch_full.y=7&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH)

Seems a good price to me, for what it is.

My mate had one, a 1.4, he said it's like a tank, really heavy, fast if driven right, but still heavy, on a plus it means it hugs corners!

exactly, how you can say it still a skodas pish these days.
the mithers got the 1.2 fabia, and to be fair isnt that slow at all, old man took it from scotland to york and back on the same day, said he sat at a steady 90 the whole way down, and it wasnt screamin and didnt miss a beat, that just the 1.2 mind.

im wanting the vrs as my next car, been in a few, lovely cars.

I like them, think skoda have got it right recently. I would stump up the cash and get a vrs. They are pretty special supposedly.

So your new girlfriend say to you:

'What car do you drive?"

and you reply.......

'A Skoda, erm, erm.....it's built by VW you know!!!'

....end of conversation.

Nothing wrong with Skodas mate.

VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda are all the same group and reliability is top notch.

First of all, I have absolutely nothing against Skodas, despite what I wrote above. Like you say, I'm sure they're reliable and fairly cheap too. vRS is pretty quick as well from what I've heard.

Imo, if reliability is the MAIN thing you can say about a car then doesn't that translate to.....hmm it's ok but a little bit boring? Not always I suppose but it usually does.

Reliablity will defo be important to some buyers but to me, I'd rather have a car that puts a smile on my face everytime I get behind the wheel and if it breaks every now and then so be it.

Saw the diesel vrs on top gear and they raced a new mini round the track and it won.

I do like the Vrs though, In yellow. Possibly my next car!

Not the best looking car in the world. But it is made by VW/Audi so it will be reliable. The VRS model, looks the nuts :D
