OK... so everyone likes to drive round the circuit at cheltenham on a sunday night.
everyone is doing 40ish on the 30mph ringroad.
loads of people have fog lights on.

why was I the only one caught.

luckily he couldnt prove my speeding, but gave me a 30quid fine for having fog lights on even when i didnt reaslise!

i told huim this but apparently having fog lights can blind other drivers and lead to someones death.
i agreed but he kept going on and on.

I understand he's doing his job... but 30quid for a mistake.... thats makes him an asshole!

my car is completely standard at the mo... not even an aftermarket exhaust, alloys, tints... nothin. so it cant because i have a pullable car... music was loud thats all.

is this fair???

I get headaches from bright lights and i have to close my eyes for about 2 - 3 secs when i get dazzled purely because it hurts my head.... so yes it can lead to some pretty bad accidents....so turn the fuckers off...

it pisses me off too when u have on for no reason... but mine was a mistake.

Its not fair if u genuinely did not realise that you had them on. But you cannot prove this which is why they gave you a fine. £30 seems reasonable to me. Could have been £60 and 3 points if the copper wanted to be a right Arse.

I have sensitive eyes, i even drive about in my sunglasses if its dull outside as any glimpse of brigth light gives me a headache.

Fog lights are made for fog, even though i think they do f**k all to aid the driver IMO

You quite clearly state here that you knowingly put them on, so you contradicted yourself as you must of known they were on.

Also the policeman is NOT an arsehole, quite far from it. You were in the wrong on two counts (speeding & fogs) so I think you got off lightly.

Anyone with fogs on gets the flashing full beam and fog treatment, if theyve got a megane its the horn aswell cus theyre fogs shine right in your eyes. I only ever use em when going down this dark wooded lane which is right next to a cliff so i dont drive off the edge to my death, n i turn em off when someone comes round the corner.

Haha welcome to SAX-P :) I am going to the cruise and circuit quite a bit recnetly as it gets me out on a sunday. Got pulled last night too :D but for other reasons, wont complain as it gave me a ride home which i didnt have!

If your at the cruise you'l probably noticed the clapped out fiesta...

Edit: IMO you shouldnt drive with fogs, it does look toopid half the time. My mate drove up to me last night to give a friend a lift... when i got pulled... tried to tell him to make sure his fogs are off luckily the police officer was more bothered about giving me 6 points.

sorry, but those xeon lights on the new golfs and other cars are far far worst than any fog lights...

Fog lights dont bother me at all, but the xeon lights do actually blind me at night...

If anything, the xeon's should be banned, and fogs allowed.. or have it so people have regular main dipped bulbs, and then xeon full beam, so they blind people less.

One thing I will say - I do agree that fogs are dangerous but with smaller cars with fogs mounted in the bumpers isnt too bad but when you have a slightly bigger car with fogs in thei headlamps or a 4x4 then they are killers -ouch they hurt like hell.

Just my view thats all.

mine dont actually show up on my dials bit for some reason, but i understand what you mean i got pulled for mine and i didnt know they were on. but theres nowt you can really do about it now luckily for me he let me off and i havent used them since.if you like them there but dont use them why not take the bulbs out or something so you couldnt put them on by accident ever again?

I hate to admit it, but when I first got my saxo I thought "I want to be a boy racer like my buddies". So I used to drive around, sitting real low in my seat with my tunes blaring out of my windows and yes my fogs were on for the rest of the world to see.

Then on the way back from my nans house, I spotted a copper coming towards me and staring at me. As soon as it went past me, the copper turned around in the road and followed me. He was right up my arse, so I pulled over. He the proceeded to get out of his car and come and ask me why i had my fogs on, I replied "I just got this car 2 days ago, so I wasn't too sure what did what as of yet". He then laughed and gave me a warning for using them. Now I never use them, not even in fog as they do jack shite.

Moral of the story -----

Fog lights are gay and will get you pulled.

Agreed, I have only ever been pulled once (in 2 years) im my slightly modded car (and that was for dodgy number plates) Where as my friends with standard cars get stopped on a regular basis. . . . .

This is what comes of driving arround aimlessly in the everning.

i agree with you - modded cars should be less likely to be pulled i.e. you dont want to spend all that cash for you then to be pulled... who wouldnt have it insured/taxed.mot'd etc. (i know what i mean)

And yeah i do speed fast, but everyone does speed, all you lot that are lke oh my god 40 in a 30 are just dripps, you all blatently speed. at 2 in the morning i dont go 30 in a 30 i will admit it, there is a time and place for it, obv on a busy day you dont speed. But late at night i dont do speed limit i just do what i think i can do on the road.
