Is it a Pioneer??? You have to swap two wires round on the back.... can't remember which ones they are, but I have had to do this each time I have put a new stereo in my car!!

bah :-S well the wires for mine plug direct into stereo, as 2 blocks of wires, so cant really swap anything round, mine is a JVC

Chris

Mine is 2 blocks as well, but behind the block that comes from the car there are some leads that need swapping, trust me!!

ive been on there before mate and found it very help. a lot of my mates are members on there.

wont ALL be about gti's though will it!?! because the saxosportsclub isnt about sport saxo's becuase people with standard 1.0's go on there.

just create a topic and see what response you get.

theres a red wire and a yellow or orange wire joined together by a bullet connector. Swap them around and it should save the radio stations

oh yeh and barrett m8, will it be too seperate bullet connectors??? 1 connecting the two red wires, and 2 connectin the 2 orange wires?

barrett
12th July 2004, 22:00
yeah they are seperate bullet connectors

This will only work if it is an aftermarket headunit. Its on the set of wires that connects the 2 blocks to the 1 block on the back of the head unit.

some JVC's dont come with their own wiring loom therefore there will be no bullet connectors that you can swap around. You have to choices:

Get a voltmeter or even just a simple bulb circuit tester, connect the earth end to earth (duhsmileys/smiley17.gif) then with no keys in the ingition find the permanent live wire and mark it, then turn the ignition on and find the other live wire and mark it. Now cut these two wires and join one wire to the other, this should solve your problems. BTW do this with the stereo removed so you can shove your probe (easy tigersmileys/smiley17.gif) into the block itself.

Or you go to halfords and buy connector PC-04-4 or something like that, its for vauxhalls but all it does is swop the lives around for you
