lol there is no such thing as F1 spec carbon.
The weight is down to the different resins they use. The lighter the resin the more expensive the panels get and I would be money they do not use the same resins as F1

i'm not an expert by any means. There are different grades of carbon with different tensile strenghs but to be honest if your bonnet gets hit - whatever its made from it will shatter so its probably irrelivant for a none structural part like a bonnet. It has more relevance to kitcars and racecars with carbon tubs and aeroplanes with carbon wings or whatever parts they use.
Now i dont know what a lot of these companies are using resin wise but we can't compete with a lot of them for clearcoat carbon bonnets because we use a company that builds race car panels and raceseats where quality is high and weight is low.
Our 205 bonnet being made as we speak we believe will be about a third of the weight of other rival carbon bonnets

TBH caarbon used in F1 is huge money!
As Kam said, probs not the same resin used.

ha ha no need to apologise:p but i thought it best to clarify lol. If I am going to sell/buy a product I make sure I have a good grounding of understanding about what I buy, hense when the Kam team went to get a bonnet made we peppered the guy with questions :y: If anyone emails us and we just say "buy it cos its carbon innit" please feel free to flame us lmao!
