Hi guys im new to the forum, this is mi first post, must say though its a top site. Excuse any daft questions i may ask cos i really am new to this.
im having real trouble in deciding which size wheels to go for, either 16 or 17. i will be lowering by 40mm so really my question is what r the main problems associated with 17's and a 40mm drop. ive heard that they rub the fuel filler pipe in the driver side rear arch?
Also im thinking of having my work done at cituning in nottingham - they any good?

depends what you want in your wheels-style or performance! if style,go for 17's,if performance,go for 16's or maybe 15's!
ive heard cituning are pretty good!

I was disapointed with the drop in acceleration with 16's, so 17's are really for style only. Only 17's really fill the arches, all smaller sizes look a bit lost even with a substantial drop. The safe bet is 16's, but 17's look the nuts, as watersjames pic shows!

yeah cheers guys i think it will have to be 17's. the only thing worrying me is that fuel filler pipe in the driver side rear arch, will the 17's rub on it cos the standard 14's look pretty close to it.
p.s. watersjames that pic looks awesome, what suspension drop ya got?

I dont think it will only rub on a much lower drop or on 18s.

The bigger the better, ive got 17s on a 60mm drop at the front and 80mm at the back and there is no rubbing even with people in the car. I am thinking of pushing for 18s.

14s - euro
15s - compromise
16s - nicer to look at, not too much of a loss in acceleration
17s - fill archs more, but only suit if you've got bodywork done
18s - silly arch fillers, only suitable for the wide arch boys and girls
19s - for the more extreme wide arch boys and girls, but becoming ridiculous (they look big on Supra's FFS!!)
20s - no doubt some nut will appear at a show this year attempting to out-do the other
22s - your not a yank by any chance are ya?
