Now this mite not be the correct section for this but there ent a steering section on here. Doing a steering project at college and i need to know the steering gear ratio on a 1.4(prob the same on all the other vt cars) anybody know it so i dont have to take my steering apart to find out? Also Does anybody know what sort of powersteering system it is?

Maybe have a look in the haynes manual, its a rack and pinion steering system thats power assisted on the hight models of course. Worked buy uping fluid through under pressure to move the steering rack I think.

yeah something like that, i used to work at NSK doing steering racks too :oops: did the EPS systems though, corsa/tigra coloumns which used a motor instead of fluid :)
