Every time i go over speed bumps the bottom of the car scrapes over them. I'm not sure how much it's lowered, the man @ ATS said that it's coz it's been lowered too much. Does anyone else have this problem? and also How much do you think it's been lowered?

How low is your exhaust hanging. If the fitment is not briliant it may sit too low and scrap on twigs in the road

go over a speed bump and get out to see where it is scraping

All the scrape marks are on the bottom of the whole length of the exhaust but i can't get it any closer fitting to the bottom the the car.

it only looks like 40mm all round mate
is it the front pipe where it bends then goes back up??
like this (this is my car which is down 60mm and was not hanging right due to the bolts slipping through the holes on manifold which was sorted out with some washers nd a few pair of hands lol) ???

how fast are you going , r u driving over them with the wheels at either side (ie most of the bump is under the car). i always drive half and half over them to stop the hump being right under the car. Saying that it still shoudnlt really bottom out

Speed won't affect spraping from the bottom of the car, only whether or not your front bumber hits the floor.

cant see why it would bottom out as it only looks 40mm, 50mm max!
would drive over a speed bump slowly and when it scrapes stop get out and see where it is scraping.

looks more than 40mm at back, probs 55ish
it shouldnt be scrubbin on bumps unless ur going too fast, slow down and take it easy over them..

mines way lower than that and doesent scrape..
do you drive quickly over the speed bumps, i always slow way down and take them in 1st or sometimes 2nd, depending on the size of the speed bump..
also, does it scrape over all speedbumps, or just one certain one.. coz they aint all the same size!
have a nosy under your car as well, see if anythings dangling down..
somethin might be loose.. maybe exhaust hangin a wee bit, check and see!

Mines is down 40mm all round there is one beast of a speedbump in my town that the magnex silencer scrapes accross. If I have 4 people in my car then it scrapes over nearly any bump!

mines 55 and i catch the occoasional bump but not all of them, use the one wheel at a time approach, i can get over most things doing that. pain in the arse but it works

I go over tham in 1st with 1 wheel at a time but it still scrapes. It destroyed my catalytic converter which cost me £150 to get a new one. I've acctually gone and measured the bump that did it 'n' it's above the legal requirements so i'm gonna get them 2 pay and get them removed.

Is it catching as the front goes down over the bump? or when the rear is coming down off the bump?
If its the first then you could have a straight through centre section put in which will aid you alot (I did) - If its the second then depending on the type of back box look to change it for a more compact back box.
Magnex's are normally quite big where as Pipers are abit more compact.
Get all the hangers changed as will you might find some have stretched making the exhaust hang that bity lower
