As anyone ever heard of these?
Basically my brother has just bought a yard to start dealing in precious metals (wholesale), nickel, platinum etc etc
We've signed up to the local camwatch company for security but they have advised us to get an IPO address, This address apparantly gives you the facilities to view your CCTV camera's from anywhere in the world over the internet...Just wondered if any of u chaps know how to go about setting 1 up?

My girlfriends Bussiness has these. She paid for a 24 month support contact but are shit. I ended up going round and sorting them out.
She has it set so people can access her site. Use there login details and can view all the different cams on site. ( she owns a nursery)
Is pretty sweat piece of kit.

Leckie - Done some digging and apparantly its a static IP address, This IP is encripted into the CCTV camera's and software to run them.... seems pretty simple me to once the BT adviser explained it!

yup. They are loads of ways for it to be done. Have them connected to a machine. Then you connect to that machine from around the world to view them.
Use a web base application that inserts the video to a website. then all you do is set a password accounts on the site so only people you want to view can do so.

It may advise a static IP altho you can get around static IP and Dymantic IPs pretty easy.

The company i work for, Fesco Systems in nottingham do these sort of things. basicly the CCTV cameras go back to a PC with a DM linked up so you can view the footage onsite but the DM is also linked up into a data port so you can acess via internet wherever and whenever. Just go to the site and enter your username and password and voula! you can watch all footage and rewind to certain times and dates.
You can also get security cameras with built in speakers so presumeing you have a microphone you can speak to the intruder through the CCTV camera. Magic Stuff!
