choosing a saxo, westcoast or vtr, putting a vts engine in it at end of the summer so i have two choices,
westcoast - less to buy and insure until i do the engine conversion but will need more modifications e.g converting rear brakes to discs and interior.
vtr - more expensive to buy and insure so less money to spend on modifications, less work will need doing to modify it
whixh one is going to be less expensive to do and is it going to be too much work for a westcoast modification,
before anyone says it i dont want to just buy a vts as i cant insure until my next birthday at the end of the summer, and so buying either of the top two will give me a car ro run about in until the end of summer aswell as an engine to tune during the summer. thanks :y:

The west coast is obviously going to be cheaper, in both ways, then you could have enough to buy a vts/vtr bodykit if thats the look your going for?
And whatever spair you have to do out the interior.

yes the westcoast will cheaper to insure and buy but i will have to spend money on changing to rear discs and new interior, oh and if anyone can tell me any other expenses i would have i would appreciate it.

Just depends on what you pay for the VTS engine.
Whatever you have left over can be spend on mods, or just buy a westcoast for now to tinker about in, then get a VTR nearer the time you want to do the conversion?
Cheaper option.

will be spending around 400 on vts engine then a further few hundred for tuning, to get power figures quite high, will save around 300 buying a westcoast and 300 on insurance, but worried that i will spend that getting things on a westcoast that are standard on a vtr e.g rear brakes as said before

Why not just buy a VTS? Is it an insurance scam?

no i am wanting to tune an engine over summer cos i got time off, but i need to keep a car to run everyday so i cant just buy a more powerful car then tune it cos this will be my first time working on a engine, i want the experience, i will use a vts gearbox, also with insurance i cant afford the vts insurance until my next b'day at the end of summer, when the vts engine will be ready to put in and my insurance wont charge me a crazy amount!

I would do neither, get a westcoast and wait until you can afford to buy a vts.

Why not save all your money, buy a VTS in the summer (Which will be cheaper insurance than a conversion) then tune that engine, you would save loads of money and have an even faster car???
Only a suggestion,
Tom
