roadside speedometers

any of you guys seen those road side speedometers???

its like those ones that flash the speed at you if you are going over the speed limit only these ones actualy tell you your speed. my speedometer at 30mph reads 26mph on those things. thats quite abit out!!!

Yeah I went through a lot of them going through Scotland coincidentally.

Was driving my mum's 306 1.9TD estate at the time, full of lads and camping stuff. They were completely out in my instance too by about 3mph each time.:clapping:

all cameras must have some leeway then. how do u know how ur going slow enough?

Yeah thats because speedometer in saxos are out roughly 10% at all times, but yeah iv seen these and i think its supposed to be a deterrent? i can see people treating it like a challenge to be honest.

if you think thats bad when i was on the ole ped my speedo said 55 was and the sign flashed 44. was most disapointed.
but the police rollin road said other wise. blumin c u next tuesdays.

apart from flash your speed at you what do they actually do? theres one near me and its like green if youre under the limit, orange if you do it and red if you go over.

There's one at Stansted Airport that pulls faces - happy if under 20mph, sad if over 20 mph - problem is you can't tell the difference!

just like a deterrent me thinks. my mate has one round his area and tell hime to slow down in a 30 zone when hes doing 22mph. can scare you if you dont know what they are.
