I woke up this morning with a smile on my face knowing that i was allowed to insure myself on my dads car (pics attached). so i phoned a few insurance people and my heart droped and a tear fell from my eye lol the highest was 10 grand with a 5 grand excess and the lowest was 7 grand with a 2 grand excess so i wount be insuring myself on the car and i wont be driving it untill my dad come home from dubi in 6 months and insure me on his insurance. so i will be missing the summer with the top down. just my luck.

What to do mate is if your dad has insurance on the merc insure your self on her car with her as a driver you as the policy holder and make it fully comp then with most insurers you can drive any other car 3rd party with the owners permission as long as your dad has a policy on the merc hope this helps

why dont u get your dad to ring them up and put you on his, or pretend to be your dad on the phone (after his permission) and get you added to his policy?

my dad is very busy in dubi and dosnt have the time to do anything let alone be on the phone to his insurance for 3 weeks trying to sort it i will see what he says and then again his insurance might be funny about it we will see.
oh i rang kwik fit insurance (my girlfriends insurance runs out on the 10th may) and i got a quote for me with my girlfriend on my policy and i can get it for £389 tpft was paying £669 on my girlfriends no point in got fully comp on a car worth £1700 plus my gf is getting a new car (astra 2.2 trubo convertable) at the end of june so if one of us crash the saxo we will sell it for parts.

if you dad is insured and you are fully comp on your own car, you could drive it and would be insured, but it would only be TPFT, i know i wouldnt let any drive a car like that unless they were fully comp ;) lmbo
