just baught an arial for my saxo but when i took the original off there is nothing to screw it onto.. do i need to buy an adaptor?? what do i do

you should get a threaded bit with the aerial, i did when i bought my beesting aerial. half winds intot he aerial and the other half into the holder.
just tighten up and there ya go, although i still get much better radio reception from my standard VTS aerial.

usually get one with it mat you can always use a bolt screw it in then saw the end off :y:
if you have bought it new take it back as you should get a kind of grub screw with them

no mate, if you can get a brass bolt as there better conductors but any metal should be ok

no, its metal, shouldnt interfere at all. As Pred said, find a bolt that fits it, cut the end of as close to the thread as possible or rethread it using the correct tool, cant remembr the name of it.
i always find that holding it gives the best reception, but im not gonna drive about with my hand on it all the time!
