Hey there, im new to this forum and i know how annoying it is when someone registers for the sole purpose to ask for help!

But i have done my background reading before asking this and just need to make sure ive got it 100%.

Basically i lost my keys. After phoning citroen and asking for a new set of keys, they quoted me £120 plus me having to trailer the car there (another £30 from a guy i know).

I told them that was too high and started researching myself...

Day 2 : I find out my citroen (1.4i SX 1999 T reg), has to have keys coded to it thats why it costs alot. I find someone willing to code the key to my citroen for £55 and a £35 callout charge. This saves me having to put the car on a recovery truc, but he asks for the transponder code and key code.
I phone citroen up and ask for the two codes, which they tell me it'll cost me £30.

Day 3 : I get a phonecall in the morning, the guy from parts says he cannot get my codes as the car was written off and a new lockset + fitting will cost £300. Just to make sure i phone another citroen dealer and ask him for the codes and he says the same thing.

Day 4: I find out i can my ecu programmed so it bypasses the immobiliser. This means i can get a key cut to the barrel and ill be sorted. I take the ecu down to a guy in bradford but he says my ecu is locked. He asks if i can get a black box out of the car, and shows me one to see what it looks like. I search around around the ignition barrel and can't find one anywhere so i give up.

Day 5: (Today) : I decide to search up if there is anyone that can unlock ecu's and THEN program it so it can bypass the transponder chip check. The search leads me to this forum.

Now i know bluehawkelectronics will be able to unlock the ecu! But what i want to know is will he be able to bypass the immobiliser check aswell ? How much will it cost ?

And am i right in saying the blackbox does not have to be modded in anyway or form for the keys to work..

(Note: My saxo does NOT have a keypad immobiliser, it solely relies on the transponder chip in the key)

Thanks in advance, this has been one of the most shittest weeks this year, as everything has just been badluck ever since i lost me keys !! I didn't even know the car was a right-off (that was the worst thing)

i had to get a new ignition barrel and a set of keys reprogrammed by citroen but they had the codes for me.

not to sure about the black box, but i do know that once the ecu is unlocked you dont have an imobilser and you could get a key cut to the barrel. but you car would be so easy to nick (i would remove doors pins and get an alarm if you did this) ;)
maybe sign up to saxo sports club, copy and past you post onto a new post there and see if anyone there can also shed some light for you mate.

failing that, you could try and call a guy called wayne at chipwizards, he knows everything about the saxo ecu and may be able to point you in the right direction as to where this black box is.

the only thing i can think of is the thing that reads the chip in your key, this is round and is usually around the ignition barrel and reads the key as it passes into the barrel.

hope you get it sorted ;)
