protein shakes can only help as an aid to your goal, you cant beat hard work and proper nutrition. having said that, they have some benefit as i am on reflex instant whey and also use metrx meal replacement on my non-training days.

im on promass. Its good, tasty and not too much to buy. I bought a big tub for like £26 and it lasts for over 50 days. Eat some high protein foods aswell. Work out regularly and push yourself to the max reps you can do and the muscles will come.
*dont ask me about biceps though. Im useless with em*
