The age old question, Which do you prefer Football or Rugby?

I like to watch both. I get more aggressive over football and mad. but like to watch rugby for the fighting.
watch both, play both... enjoy them the same amount

I just feel football is a now a game for cheaters and liers
Very split between the two to be honest, played both but cant really carry on now cos of my knee. International Rugby is better than watching premiership, but international football (world cups, euro games) is better than int. Rugby in my opinion anyway.
UFC or WWE ftw lol
Football.....
Rugby makes no sense.......chasing a giant egg round the field and only throwing backwards...beats the object really

Clouds_mate
1st May 2007, 10:10
yes i no that. Just saying, i rather watch league over union
I also feel rugby is an excuse for men to touch each other in private places and get away with it

If thats the case where do i sign?
rugby is football for the fat kids that were never good enough for football.
banter all my mates that i know that play rugby all the time, i get called a pretty boy, rather that than an egg chaser tbh.

the attitude of a true football fan haha,
I dont mind watching football i just get wound up now and again when player go down after a light knock
Footballers are part time actors....hence the silly dives....does ruin the game a bit....
But its just the passion and atmosphere you feel at a football game......Rugby doesnt really share that passion as all the fans love each other and get on well....football fans are die hard and hate rival fans...lol
Rugger Bugger............ need i say more.

depending on what rugby we are talkin about league is far better than union (all pile on)
much prefer rugby league over football nowadays, no fun in football anymore to much money involved.

Sorry but with the wigan v saints matchs theirs always been a rivalry since whenever i can remeber, and every game ive been to dont think ive ever seen the wiagn and saints fan cuddle, kiss and love each other,
And as for atmosphere central park used to be packed out during the 80s, 90ss and the atmosphere was brilliant,
Bring back the standing stadiums i say, kick the seats in touch,
atmosphere much better when everyone is stood together with a pie and pint in the hand.

May be rival stuff going on....Like Wakefield and Cass and your pretty much certain for a fight if you want. But the whole atmosphere is shit tbh. Nothing like football and that is somthing that i love most. A good sing and shout.

Oh yeah obviously in football with the bigger stadiums deffinatly going to get a better atmosphere,
but i remember when saints came here and had neally 40,000 in central park standing, it was amazin lol
couldnt see shit, but still was great being there.
dont rubgy fans from both teams sit in the same stands amongst each other? that happened in the world cup? wouldnt see that happening in futbol..

I dont mean just in the ground. Woundering around the streets and stuff before the games is always fun.
Rugby is more of a mum, dad and all the kids on a sunday thing.
Footie - with the lads or the old man.

football for me !
im a sunderland fan and the is nothing better than a home game against newcastle !
bring on next season !
i caant watch a game of rugby its never interested me, but i liked playing in school just cos you could hurt people you didnt like with out getting kicked out of school !
Football has a skill to it....I'm an awesome diver
Rugby is good if you were fat and bullied at school
Only ever played rugby in A Level PE, played twice and got sent off twice for swiping people's legs, almost broke a mates ankle :)
Leckies got it right.
Rugby is more a family day out with the meal at the pub and a chat between friends of rival teams.
Football is a more get pissed, aggresive, take your shirt off and yell franticly type of sport, not something you are likely to do with your mother (unless she's a boozehound)
Football all day for me - Hope we see Chelsea vs Man U in the CL Final

To be fair its only normally the front row in rugby who are fat, you look at the rest of the team and they are just hench solid blokes.
Looks like we got a fairly healthy debate going here now though
Blind Football is the best....watched it on eurosport a while back
Sparco_Tom
1st May 2007, 11:55
Blind football haha, ive got alot of respect for disabled athletes
Yeh, it was quality the ball has a bell inside it.....few people got nailed in the crowd with the ball and a few of them ran off pitch...but all was good.

Well I hate football, so my vote is for Rugga.
Football is full of overpaid actors.... they get tackled and they dive to the floor screaming like little girls until they get awarded a freekick, then they get up and run around like nothings up with them.
Rugby they get tackled properly (aggressively) and have blood pouring out of them and there is no moaning at all... they just get up and carry on with blood running in to there eyes etc.... Proper MAN'S SPORT!!!
Just my opinion!
Chris :)

would have to take your keys out of your pocket.
2 footed slide tackle, straight onto keys. dead leg for the rest of the day. bruise there for about a month.
