My gearstick squeaks, simple as. Ive searched the forums for an answer, and tried what they all said, getting down to the gearstick ball and greasing the hell out of it, i cant take the actuall ball out of the socket though, if i pull hard on it i can see like half of it almost.
But tried my best and greased it up and the squeak is still there, im starting to think its lower down in the mechanism, mayb the linkage or something.
its mainly when i change up to 3rd and down to 4th, sounds like its punchin a mouse every time i change up. drivings starting to get annoying now instead of fun :rage: so needs to be fixed ASAP.

Please help :y: cheers

It's not the ball that you grease. Undo the four nuts securing the whole assembly to the floor then the bolt 10/13mm bolt beneath and grease where the rubber bellow in the underside makes contact with the lever. The is a guide on here somewhere.

best thing to do is turn the volume up on the radio ;)

lol as above really, if you find it hard to get in to grease it, see if you can borrow a grease gun off someone with a long skinny neck ;)

i wouldnt undo all the bolts, just leave them on a bit as it might drop out and its a bit fiddly to get back in so undo the ones nearest the back of the car all the way and the other two just part of the way then get an oil can in or some grease on the bottom of the stick
