Fitting harnesses? Eye bolts?

Just got some 4 point trs harnesses...

They have these adaptors on them...

So i need some eye bolts like this yeh?

There is already two holes under the rear seats, so if i screw an eye bolt into there can i put both straps for one harness on it? Or do i have to drill another hole?

If the eye bolt will fit the thread thats already there then i cant see why you couldnt mount the two on that one..

I need some eye bolts that are the same size as the standard bolts so i dont have to drill more holes...

Well you'll have to find the thread type/size out of the one already in the car and get an eye bolt to match it..

Otherwise you will have to bite the bullet and drill holes, but like i said can become complicated to do it properly so it will pass an mot.

Do you have to use an eye bolt though? will they not fit on the original bolts..

I dont think i have to use an eye bolt no, but when using eye bolts the connections on the harness straps are held in a different way.

Tried to find some pics buy every one uses normal harnesses lol.

as said rigsy you just need a eye bolt or a different clip thing which is a lot bigger but thinner that your harnesses can easiuoy clip other. or just get a bolt that goes throught them and bolt in original hole

Ah ok, i think i used the ones that came with the harnesses..

They seemed identical anyway :)

If you just drilled a hole and stuck a bolt on the other side then its not particularly safe. You really need to add some structural support so the metal will not tear in an accident. You should get a thin plate welded in and then drill through the re-enforced area

Agree'd, i tried to say something like that earlier in the thread but wasn't as well said as this.

I think you can get a special washer or something that goes behind the metal that makes it spread the load in an accident.. This is why i just got my ones as they use the standard holes etc so i know they are safe and will pass an MOT ok. :)

i would you the existing seat belt bolt holes mate, the are all strengthend incase of an impact.

i have the same connections on my harnesses mate, i used the side holes for the seat belt points on one side (nearest doors) and used a bolt for the subframes passed threw the clip with a big washer on the inside (near handbrake)
you also need some small spilt pins, these go throw the small hole in the clip connection, you push the split pin in the small hole, then bend the legs of the pin back, this will stop the clips from opening fully and disconecting themselves from the eyebolts ;)
