Iv been searching high and low insurance quote for my VTR but its not going too well :(. I recieved a quote for £1100 a year but iv been told i could do a lot better. I live in a respectable neighbourhood so tht wont put my premium up and its parked in a private car park. Its not looking too good but il pay the lowest quote i can find lol.Any ideas on who to try? Iv tried bell, brentacre and websites like confused an elephant and £1100 is the lowest so far. Thanks :y:

£1100 is very good for a 17 year with a vtr, have you tried Quinn Direct?

How much was the brentacre quote mate?

Quinns are usually the best i think. 1100 isnt tht bad though

I might see how much it is to go on my mums name too, 2300 for me is affordable, but a pain in the ass at the same time.

Well i got it on my own isurance for £1100 annually with Direct Line so i get my own no claims etc. It could be due to my area and the fact my mums had the car in her name for a while now and insured it under her name so its not like its just been bought for me.but im realising that £1100 is goood ;) Its a 2001 mk2 so i dont think il turn tht quote down lol :p

You'll be a fool if you do, you won't get cheaper mate, i'm 80% sure you won't, much lower than mine.

I'm older than you, and mine will be 2200 for a year, when i come to insure a VTR.

Mate £1100 quid at 17 on a VTR on your own policy is a fantastic price and i would bit their hands off. Although VTR's are only group 7, insurance companies see them as high risk cars solely due to the fact they are popular cars with young drivers.

1100 at 17 is amazing

cheapest ive had is 1600!!! at 17 on VTR

TAKE 1100!

unless you got friends in the industry or something i dont think your gonna find it cheaper

Too good to be true. I phoned them up to confirm that the quote was correct, and they took my details etc. They asked if there is more than 1 car at the household and I have 2.So the insurance company didnt bother filling the rest out for me cause they knew right away that my mum wouldnt use my car :( The quote has completely changed and now the best i can get is £2000. Any ideas on who to try? :(

Thought it might have been.

The difference between your Mum being the main driver and you being the main driver is likely to increase the premium a lot.

if you lie and say your mum is the main driver when you drive it more then that will invalidate your policy if they find out so not worth the risk.

go to this site - www.comparethemarket.com. thats where i went for insurance quote. it gets quotes from 200 diffrent insurers and brings you back the best 3 quotes within minutes. i got a quote for a saxo vtr with mods fully comp £846. im 25 years old with 5 convictions which are 2 x drink driving / driving whilst banned and driving with no insurance, and theft banned for 4 years. now thats pretty bad history, but i think the quotes i got were very good and also i got the quotes when i was 24. hope this helps mate. cheers:y:
