Small Plates ... Legal?

Right, was at falkirk cruise last night & noticed a few people have got them, the letters and font look the same size at standard plates but the plate itself is smaller ... if u get what i mean. I find them really nice like just wondering if there legal? There were police floating about last night but i was in front of a guy that had them & he didnt get pulled. Cheers

MoT law states that any Non Standard plate whether Size or Font are illegal. Only a store that asks for your V5 are MoT friendly like the items supplied by Halfords but still these will have to be bog standard size and font.

Even the Pressed French Plates will not pass an MoT - But depending on the tester and the station you might get away with near standard plates.

If you carry very non standard plates always carry your normal ones in the boot so if you get stopped you can say you have been or are going to a club meet or show and havent changed them over yet but you can show the originals if needed. Worked for me anumber of times.

as said above the only one that are legal is correct size plates with the correct font and spacing. like vts_16v_boy said go to halfords check what they have on the wall thats all u can have. police will be gettin strict on these as the anpr system is becoming more popular with forces and if it can tread ur plate then there's something wrong with it and they will pull u over

no i think they have to standard anythink else is classed as a show plate that aint legal but thats wot i heard so lol
