While a Quiksilver is still in my head (I was going to see one but it was a Cat-C write off, saw another one Tuesday -- had a dent and high 80,000 miles for £2400.00) I've still been looking at Saxos and one has just come up:

Saxo Furio -- Mango Orange
67,000 miles
Was told excellent body work
£1,250.00

By going for this Saxo I will have "change" for a PC 7424, lowering and alloys and possibly colour coding or a Laptop and a PC 7424. I need a laptop ideally but if I can mod my car I may as well use the money well ;).

What do you think? The only thing I am worried about is the mileage as every other car I have bought have been around 40k miles. It's only 30k more though.

other than saying: "Lol, Nice one" in the joke section, the "Ive seen a car shall i get it" is all you post.

JUST BUY IT ALREADY!
Then when i check your site for your car log, they'll be something happening other than "I dont have a car"

Best of luck otherwise :)

The only thing I am worried about is the mileage as every other car I have bought have been around 40k miles. It's only 30k more though.

High mileage is not neccessarily a bad thing just like low mileage isn't necessarily a good thing.

When I bought my Saxo it was 4 years old and had 55,000 miles which was highish mileage for it's age but the car had a full service history, loads of reciepts and the mileage was motorway miles which aren't a bad thing as the guy who had it before me commuted from Southampton to Bournemouth every day. My housemate on the other hand has just bought a 2 year old car with 5000 miles on it. I hate to think of all the short little journeys to the shops and back that that car has done. As long as the car has been looked after it's not always a bad thing. 80,000 miles is average mileage on the sort of age quicksilvers and VTRs like my own are now

yeah it does annoy me the amount of people on here who think that the Saxo/106 set standards in the Car World.

They only thing they have managed to make themself proud is
"Car most popular to bolt plastic on"

They have a NCAP rating of 2 stars.
Have crazy road noise compared to a similar car the same age
Outdated looks : (mk1 looks like a Nova. Mk2 should have come out a lot sooner!)
All in all they should be destroyed if kept standard.

Thats why ive had 2 :) Love it.

I didn't ask you to and quite frankly would rather you didn't give me any input.

Hey bud, this is a forum for discussion and help related to cars, Saxos in particular. I would have thought I have the right and freedom to ask what ever I like.

As you have probably worked out, I am the sort of guy that needs reassurance and lots of information before I go and just do something. Especially when it comes to purchasing a car for example.

djrem
4th May 2007, 15:16
Just make sure the advice your getting is from someone your know is qualified rather than trust.

The only way i can relate this to real life is thru mystical things.
As in. Dont believe hocus pocus stuff like fortune readings:

http://www.cartoonstock.com/lowres/dcn0062l.jpg

Something like that would freak out the nieve.

Instead go on decent car review sites and research that way.
Dont get your heart set on a car before you see it :) - Best advice ever.

Mrk1

Tbh scrnix i would go for the one below (Posi Blue)

As it has all the extras that you plan to buy in the future anyway. I know you will want to add your own style to it but that can be done anytime. Its also got less milage which was your initial worry.

its up to you but i would suggest viewing both asap and make a decision that suits you. But don't hang around or they will be snapped up.
