Late afternoon i was driving down a fairly busy hill and your never guess what happened.....
......
.......My spare wheel thought it would be funny to just fall out! As i was driving down the hill! Scared the S*** out of me just a massive bang then continous noise of the metal thats meant to hold it in place scrapping along the floor! I got to the bottom of the hill and pulled over wondering where my tyre was and then saw rolling down the hill into some poor dears 56plate focus. Lucky really as i knew her daughter and also that it didnt do hardly any damage to her car. But the jack also fell out which could of been very dangerous! But as i said luckly no one was hurt, and then which made things worse there just happened to be one of the them wanna be policemen (Community support officers) and created a big scene! Yeh it goes on some old bloke come and stuck his nose in as i was talking to the women and he goes "You better take his insurance details" i was like you must be having a laugh and whats it got to do with you? So he put his hat back on and carried on to the shop. But i wouldnt of thought nothing will come of it as i said i know there daughter and spoke to her today and seem ok with it, although i did offer obviously to give them some money if they do decide to get repaired. Oh yeh the damage, it had broke bit of the plastic grill at the bottom of the car and typical women saying "Oh no you have broken my parking sensor!"
Anyway just thought id let you no about my exciting evening lol.

My wheel hit a car when it came off after someone undid the bolts... half the damage must have been there already, not had a claim yet, but no doubt he will...
Pain though isn't it!

Why don't people check to see if the spare wheel bolt is tight every month or so... :err:

To be honest yes it is.. it's all part of looking after your car. Would you make a long drive without checking oil levels etc? No..

yes blatenly, i have hope in my car.
i knw you should check, but tbh i wouldnt think to check the spare wheel every so often, you would expect them just to be safe.

This happened to me too!
Doing 60mph and the wheel fell out, just missing three cars and ended up wedged between two trees.. then after searching for it i had to drive 1/2 mile to find somewhere to pull over.
Lucky i found some rubbish by the side of the road with loads of green rope which i used.
I've got some pictures under my signature (my thread) if you wanna see...lol
