I am currently using the meguairs nxt tech car shampoo and have done for the last few months. however recently i am getting next to no suds at all.

Their is obviously some bubbles on top of the water yet when i start to wash my car with the wash mitt, no suds seem to be directed on to the paint- it just seems like a greasy water.

this is really annoying me as i cant seem to find the correct ratio for the thickest suds mix.

is it the product im using or just the technique? also im finding ordinary sponges pick up alot suds than the meguiars wash mitts, am i going wrong somewhere?

come on cleaning whores.

how are you putting it in the bucket, i usually put it in the bucket and a bit on the mitt and use a powerful flow of water to get some suds

you could always buy a gilmour gun

I normally start with pouring the shampoo in then putting the water in afterwards. i thought this would be the best way to mix the two together.

yeah usually is mate, dont use a sponge anyway, have you tried pouring a bit of shampoo on the mitt too, some shampoos dont bubble up that good

sometimes i try that, what shampoo are you using? i think the autoglym one i used to use was better for suds, but this gives better results.

this started happening when i was running out of my meguirs gold class shampoo, an i didnt know why.
think it might either be because my wool wash mitt was getting old an fecked or there was something up with the last bit of my shampoo.
all good now though got some slick an suds :y:

hhas your previous shampoos given better suds? it could be that you live in a hard water area and sudes dont come up too well. the important thing is that your shampoo feels slick as that means theres enough mixture in there to help slide the dirt off the body.

is it actually cleaning the car tho?

its best to have suds as theres less of a chance of scratching the paint, the suds act as a lubrication

yes it does wash the car. suds lift the dirt off but slickness works by allowing dirt to slide off the paint, you ever done the dishes? see how when you dip the plate in the water the dirt seems to slide off? thats where the slickness comes in so they work together. as long as you followed the instructions and put in the correct amount i cant see there being problems.

Sud dont actually matter that much and alot of the pros put the shampoo in after the water which means nearly no suds atall. What matters is that there is enough shampoo so that it acts as a lubricant.

as csaxo and VTSchris have said suds dont matter, the less suds the better as the suds is just a wate of shampoo as they can't be used to clean the car. I run the water down the side of my bucket to fill it up or put the shampoo in after filling with water and stirr it in.

As long as it has good lubrication its doing its job.

I tend to put a little more than the recommended amount in.
