Well i was looking around on pistonheads today and had a thought.

I currently own a mk2 51 reg VTR and love it to bits but it aint really got much done to it, so i was wondering weither to get rid of it in november when i get two years no claims bonus and go for a smaller car thats modded to fook!

Im not sure if id miss the umph i get from my VTR but id love the looks of a really nice kitted up car. Id love to buy a kitted up VTR but insurance would be sky high so id have to opt for a 1.4 or a 1.2.

Ive seen this on pistonheads and would like something like this without all the faults with it http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/155685.htm

What are your lots opinions? what do you think i should do?

Cheers guys much appreciated!

I don't think you should mate, i'm not a big fan of that car, i think i've seen it on here a few times. I Own a fiesta but would like a VTR cheap -£2000 and i love the way the vt saxos look standard, well lowered and mint condition.

i think its a good idea mate, i would try an get a 1.4 so that the difference between that and your vtr arnt a world apart like if you get a 1.1,

Mines in good knick, its a 51 with 28k miles on it, at the moment it only has induction kit, backbox exhaust and smoked rears and its gettin lowerd sometime soon.

I think i just fancied a changed and wanted to go for a more kitted car.

i think it would be much better if you owned a modded car and were able to claim the work was done by your self. might be a little more satisfying.

The owner is on here, and is constantley making an arse of himself, Drive like a bit of a tit and it is based abroad! Well, Guernsey but its not exactley the main land.

Lol i wasnt on about his car! i just used his car as an example of what sort of car i would like.

And yeah i could claim that i did all the work myself but id find alot more pride in it if i did all the work myself but i just havent got the money!

id keep the sax over a highly modded car anyday, theres just too many jealous arse holes around who would damage it "just for a laugh", think of how much it would cost to repair it if it did get damaged,i.e paint, body kit & i.c.e, such a shame theres so many wanna be pikey chavs around, it wasnt like that when i was a boy...:y:

I would keep the VTR if it was me. You say you wont miss the difference in power but im sure you would as i think anybody would. I cant see the advantage of putting Loads of cosmetic mods on a car. I mean when you see a highly kitted car do you think 'Wow hes cool' or do you think 'What a nob'. At least with performance you are getting something out of it. just my opinion.

If it was me id keep the VTR to have one in good condition with that low milage id definately keep it.

Get a quote with someone like Quinn Direct for insurance as i believe they dont charge any extra for alot of cosmetic mods which you've looked at
