does it have to be stiffer because of the fuel tank?

Maybe just seems a tad to stiff if you ask me

if your jumping up and down on the boot and its not bouncing all over the place then the shocks are working fine.

the base models are higher all round as standard and you have the added problem of having the VT kit which will make it look worse

Sounds about right to me. If it was bouncing all over the place then the rear shocks would be shagged. Think its sposed to bounce once and then settle back into the level position straight away.

I wont 'Bounce' as suchdue to the fact Saxos dont have springs on the back. If you push the back bumper down hard on one side, it should come back up above level slightly, come back down to level and sit there. If it does that more than once when you push down then the shocks have gone.
