Iv read 2 threads about vandalism/theft last night (one being me).
What do people think we could do to stop this.... not only does it piss us all off, its an inconveniance too.
suggestions i.e. *Group buy on a "top" alarm?*

Saxo's seem to attract tosser mate. My car has been had loads of times now, making me want to get something different, which is SHIT cos' I love my vtr :(
I'll keep an eye out, if i catch the git who keeps doing my car in, ill lock him in the back of a van and we can dismantle him :)

It does suck. No point askign the police for help as theyre fucking useless when it comes to car break ins. Only way is to garage it, alarm might help i spose. Or teach the twats a lesson yourself, but of course theres no justification in that atall in the eyes of the law.

Oh the police suck for breakins on cars. When mine got broken into and I reported it too the police, nothing got done. Then about two weeks later, I got a call saying (roughly translated) "they knew the guy who is doing it, but they can't do anything about it as he hasn't been caught red handed". Severly pissed me off.
If you never want your car broken into, strip it out ;) and then put one of those steering wheel locks and the handbrake/gear lever locks. Job done

See the law sucks, as if you caught the people who broke into your car and tought them a lesson they would walk away scott free and you would be arrested. This is why we should have a group buy on a hit man :P

Its always going to be tough, but the same with any car if somethings on show then they'll have it, best ways to avoid car break ins is:
1. Get a good alarm fitted, have the flashing LED or apply a sticker that you get with the alarm as its a visual deterrant at least.
2. Always take out your head unit! even if you only leave your car for 5 minutes
3. Dont draw attention to your car by playing loud music which would perhaps signify a decent sound system
4. Cover up 6x9's with some form of cover if you have them
5. Never leave a satnav in your car, also remove the mounting bit from the windscreen and wipe the glass so the rings cant be seen
6. Leave glove box open (with nothing in it) to show that you havnt just stashed an item in there
7. Take out any other valuables such as handbags etc
8. Take out your doorpins
9. If you have the money then delock your car

Slight edit ;)
door pins wont stop anything matt.
you need to get rid of the locking arm, and get central locking if u dont have it.
cos they can still punch a hole by the side of the lock and lift the lock arm like they did to me...
but as you said.. de lock :) and visual alarm
you cant say its saxo owners that this happens to mate!! this is a saxo website so yes your hearing about saxo's being damaged!!! as iv said many times before i take a zero tolerance to this shit the police are at least 15mins from me a thieving scum would be well away by then!!!
personally now if i catch somebody trying to get in my car i will knock them to the ground and hold them until the police come or just seriously take them round a dark area and kick there heads in,it pisses me off seeing all this about cars being broken into!!! i recently have just had my windscreen on the nova smashed thru with a brick, lucky its all stripped out but not the point!!!!

Should fit a scrobe (sp?) light inside your car, so when the car gets broken into and the alarms activated it flashes constantly would blind the f00kers and everyone would notice at night especially.
Deadlocks (Y) love it on the astra.
Tell you, if someone broke into my car and i caught them, id stick their face on my exhaust(back box) because it gets rediculously hot.

just go south africa stylee... proximity sensors linked up to a flamethrower kit ..... anyone gets too close .... toast um :y:
Just put little foil pads around the car hidden where people are likely to touch them, and wire them up to the lamppost neer your car....
You'll soon have a collection of bodys!

had mine broken into, we caught him held him down and wheel span over his hands. he never done it again. not reckonmended but it works....lol
i think all saxos should have alarms cause they are so easy to break into they stick out like a sore thumb to theifs easy target.
Both mine have had alarms and i strongly recommend it

kick the theiving bugger up and down the street, then practice your golf swing on them!
or...
...catch them and sit on them while calling the police...
then call again 2 mins later and tell them not to come cause you've killed the bugger.
then you'll get hundreds of the buggers in secconds!

This seems the most sensible option apart from an alarm, but tbh its not always practical to take everything out.
More to the point why should we have to? Its ridiculous really, if we like modding our cars then we should be allowed to do it without problems. Just a shame that there are some jealous wankers out there.
well chip out for a puker good alarm for like 800quid or so then ur laughing
cant u get the flame thowers that come out the sides or somthing (hahah swear that was on firthgear or somthing)

I pay my tax because?
...we have to make sure the coppers can retire early on a good pension for all their good work they do. D'uh!
Haha I have CCTV fitted to my house and the camera points right at my drive where either my car or her car is sat. It works, its noticable and it records. Some trick or treater silly stringed it when I didn't answer the door. The funny thing is... I know who he is for next year and I will be playin TRICK or treat!

funny thing is you can talk about the law till your black and blue but nothing will ever change. The law is only getting weaker. So shouldnt that mean we get taxed less? yeah right, I wish!
