misfiring and loss of power

i have a 98 reg vtr. it started to have a slight misfire on idle so i decided to change the spark plugs and ht leads as i thought it could be that!

after i had changed the plugs and leads it misfires and splutters a lot more.... up to about 3000rpm and has a big loss of power it is much more noticable on full throttle than driving slowly.

im now confused! has anyone got any ideas why it would be doing this?

i have checked the plugs and leads and they are all ok!

could possibly be the timing has jumped a tooth but im sure that wud mean it wud hardly run at all!! could also be a blocked fuel filter?or the injectors on the way out

Try the coil pack, Could also be one of the sensors.Oh the joys of owning a saxo..

yea i was thinkin coil pack

and i think ill change the fuel filter anyway!

i hope my injectors arnt on the way out! would be costly

any one know why putting new spark plugs and leads in would make it worse???
